Live GPS Speedometer
Press Start GPS and allow location access to see your real speed. Your browser only asks for permission after you press the button.
Safety: use this only where it is safe. Never look at or touch your screen while driving — let a passenger operate it.
Live GPS — real speed measured on your device
GPS speed is computed by your device from movement between location fixes. It can fluctuate while the signal settles and is often unavailable indoors, under cover, or on devices without location support.
Road Speed Limit Finder
Checks nearby mapped road data. This is an estimate of a nearby road, not a guaranteed identification of the road you are travelling on.

Your browser sends location coordinates to the public OpenStreetMap Overpass service to perform the search. Avoid using this feature if you do not want to share coordinates with that service.
Privacy and requirements
- Your location is used only inside your browser to read speed. It is never stored or sent anywhere, and no location analytics are collected.
- Browser location normally requires a secure (HTTPS) page; localhost is generally allowed for development.
- Speed appears only when your device reports one. If it doesn't, you'll see a dash — we never fill in a guessed or simulated value.
